Moving into post-16 education is the single biggest transition of your school life. It’s the moment you stop following a set routine and start designing your own future. My mission for Hornsea Sixth Form is simple: to provide an ambitious, high-performing environment where your independence is respected, your goals are personalised, and your potential is relentlessly pursued.
We don't believe in the "Big College" trade-off. You shouldn't have to choose between adult freedom and the academic support you need to succeed. At Hornsea Sixth Form, we deliver both through what we call Tailored Freedom:

Our average class size of 8 students undoubtably aids the effectiveness of the high quality teaching, which happens every day.
Consistently High Outcomes
Last year, 59% of all A Level results were grades A*-B and we had a pass rate of 100%.
Hornsea "Pathways"

We are not an exam factory; exam grades alone seldom facilitate future prosperity, curiosity or well-being. The curriculum fosters the development of students’ personal growth and resilience,
Excellent Facilities
Students benefit from numerous facilities, including: A quiet study area; a buzzing common room (complete with a pool table!); a state of the art 3G pitch and a delicious cafe. All conveniently located at our purpose-built Sixth Form centre.
Trips & Visits
At Hornsea Sixth Form, you will have the opportunity to go on a range of trips. We’ve had departments take our students all over the world! From Cambodia, to New York, to the busy streets of London.
Social Life
Spend time in the Sixth Form's dedicated social area during your free lessons, grab a bite to eat at the on-site cafe and maybe even have a game of pool with friends!

James studied Art, English Literature and Photography with us, before going on to study a BA in Graphic Design, followed by an MA in Visual Communication at the prestigious Royal College of Art.

Bobbi studied Business, French and Photography at A-Level, before going on to study Journalism at Lancaster University. She has had the opportunity to work at BBC Look North and Radio Humberside!

Tom studied Maths, Physics and Biology at Hornsea Sixth Form. He went on to undertake a degree in Physics at the University of Sheffield, where he is currently working whilst completing his PhD.

Hannah studied Media, Sociology and English Literature at A-Level, going on to complete a BA in Sociology with Criminology at York St John. She currently works as a sessions lecturer at Hull University where she is completing her PhD.

Emily studied French, Spanish, Sociology and Law at Hornsea Sixth Form, and is currently studying Languages at university. She has already had the opportunity to study abroad for a year!
