Lecture and discussion on different careers within the STEM sector including how they work and what the admission requirements are

STEM Careers Day
A series of lectures and guest speakers from different industry backgrounds discussing their professions (e.g. Architect, Biotechnologist, Engineer)

Visit to Science / Science and Industry Museum
See national collections in science, technology, industry and medicine – over 300,000 objects, some of which date back to prehistoric times, and including more world ‘firsts’ than any other single institution

Visit to University Department(s)
Dependent on demand – visit(s) can be arranged to university departments specialising in STEM subjects

“My path to the STEM industry…”
Discussions with a former Hornsea student about how best to use your time at to use your time at Sixth form to make a successful application

Mock Interviews for Applicants

Assistance with arranging a relevant work Experience placement

A wide range of practical workshops enabling you to develop your STEM skills

Additional bespoke subject support when undertaking an EPQ
An opportunity to undertake an independent piece of research into an area of STEM work that is of interest to you with the additional bonus of gaining extra UCAS points

Regular Pathway meetings
A regular, hour-long meet up with other students on the STEM Pathway to discuss your future career and debate the recent developments within
