HSLC Careers Exhibition – 21st January 2016
Over 30 businesses and organisations representing a range of industry sectors attended our Careers Exhibition on 21st January, to promote careers, skills and training to our students
Industry sectors included health, performing arts, engineering, the armed forces, public services, sport and leisure, social care, environmental planning and services, accountancy, languages, media, construction, hospitality, food production and many others. Students were also able to find out about Further Education and college courses as well as university and apprenticeships.
All students from years 7 to 13 had the opportunity to attend the event and parents/carers were also invited to attend during the evening – where we hope that the information presented will help them to support their children in making important decisions about GCSE and A Level choices as well as possible career paths after completing full time education
Part of our event also included a falcon flying demonstration from local Falconry Services and Facilities Maintenance business, The East Riding Group. Students watched as the falcon flew over the school site, scaring away our ‘resident’ gulls! This really did show them a very different type of job role and career path that they could consider!
