UCAS Advice

At Hornsea Sixth Form you have access to a wide support network committed to helping you investigate and apply to university.
Year 13 tutorials are dedicated to finding out more about UCAS and university and starting your application. Each session will look at student finance, life at university, what to consider when making your choices etc. Your tutor is available to guide you through your application and help create your personal statement.

We encourage you to attend many university open days to find out more about the options available to you and to compare different courses and campuses. Occasionally, Sixth Form arrange a trip to a university open day, however, we strongly advise that you arrange to attend as many as you can independently. If you need financial support to help with transport costs to open days, it may be worth contacting the university to see if they can help. We authorise absences for attending open days, please just take confirmation of your booking to the Sixth Form office.
Alongside tutorial sessions, we have guest speakers and sessions dedicated to specific aspects of UCAS, including applying to Oxbridge universities, applying for medicine and parent sessions. Find out more about these and a wealth of other information on the UCAS noticeboard, through briefing, on Twitter and on the Sixth Form homepage.
If you would like to talk about your individual options or would like some advice about university, your tutor is available to help or contact Mrs Richardson, the Sixth Form careers adviser.
