3G Pitch Officially Open!

Following a 13-week construction programme during the Summer term, our long-awaited 3G Artificial Grass Pitch was finally handed over to the school in the last week of term We are delighted with the facility and it will have a huge impact on the delivery of PE, Games and extra– curricular activities at HSLC as well as benefiting many local community clubs. The pitch was used during the Summer holiday period and is now being used on a daily basis during school time. All year groups are able to access the facility and it provides a fantastic resource to help develop our school football teams. During the week, after school, local clubs access the pitch for both training and fixtures and a weekly Leisure Leagues Club runs each Monday night. Upon our return to school in September, we were able to organise an official opening event for the pitch as an opportunity to thank all our funders, sponsors and supporters. We were delighted when Hull City legend, Dean Windass agreed to ‘cut the ribbon’ and help us to celebrate the opening. The event was well attended and visitors were able to watch the three mini games of football on the pitch. These included Walking Football, a 6-a-side student game as well as a game with Hornsea Sixth Form students vs Hornsea Town Veterans!
