HSLC School Fund 13/14

Hornsea School & Language College School Fund 2013/14

Thank you to all parents, carers and friends of Hornsea School who generously contributed to our ‘School Fund’ last year.  At the end of last Summer term this had raised in excess of £1000. This sum of money will be allocated towards equipment and resources for the school.

Therefore, we would like to invite parents/carers and friends of Hornsea School to contribute to our School Fund for 2013/14 and ask you to consider making a donation of £10 as a family donation for this year. We have calculated that we have approximately 800 families with children attending Hornsea School at the moment, therefore if each family donated £10 this would achieve a total of £8000 towards our total for the school.

Once again, this scheme will be administered through the PTFA, which will mean that we can also make a claim for gift aid as a registered charity.  This will increase the donation to £12.80 at no extra cost to you as parents/carers.  Obviously, this is a voluntary scheme, but, if every family at school joined, we would raise a considerable amount of money that would by far exceed the amount generally raised each year by the PTFA organising raffles, craft fayres and other events that take a considerable amount of time and effort by a very small group of members.

Please complete the form below and return to the lower school office as soon as possible.

Thanking you in anticipation of your generous support.

Yours sincerely

Hornsea School P.T.F.A. Committee

Early Closure 19th July

The Summer Term now draws to a close and I wish to take this opportunity to thank you for the support you have given to us over the academic year.  Our end of term newsletter will follow shortly detailing our news for the term as well as a number of information items for you in readiness for September.

The arrangements for the end of this term replicate those at the end of the last two terms this year. The transport providers will again depart from the school site at 1 pm and I ask that our students are there in plenty of time.  Staff will be on duty as usual to supervise the safe loading.  As previously, staff will remain on the site after the 1 pm departure of our students.

As a result, arrangements for Friday 19th July are as follows:-

•    The specific arrangements for all years (7 – 13) are:-

10.45 -   Extended Break/Early lunch with the opportunity for students with Free School Meal entitlement to use their vouchers to collect a packed lunch
11.15 -   period 3 – normal timetabled lesson
12.15 -   period 4 – Citizenship with the Group Tutor
12.45 -   period 4 finishes
1.00 -   School closes to all students

If these arrangements cause a particular difficulty, then please let me know otherwise may I thank you again for your support over the year and wish you and your family a pleasant summer break.

The Autumn Term for students begins on Tuesday, 3rd September. The optional summer variation to the uniform will have finished and all students need to be in full uniform.
